About RTNA

Governance

Up until 2007, the RTNA was governed by a Steering Committee representing a variety of organizations including the Alberta Family Practice Research Network; Health Canada, Alberta Health and Wellness, University of Alberta; University of Calgary; and Alberta's health regions. The 2007 RTNA Strategic Plan calls for a different governing structure for the network and this is under development.

Ad hoc working groups may be formed to deal with specific functions of the RTNA. Currently there are two working groups: the Watercooler Working Group, and the 2008 Conference planning Working Group.

The RTNA is supported financially and administratively by the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research. The responsibility for the RTNA is within Research Transfer Initiatives.
