Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research / Foundation Fighting Blindness - Canada
Studentships or Fellowships in Vision Research
The Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR) and the Foundation Fighting Blindness - Canada (FFB) are pleased to announce a new partnership supporting studentships and fellowships in vision research. Building on AHFMR's tradition of funding high quality trainees, this partnership will attract high quality students and fellows to Alberta to conduct research to find the causes, treatment and ultimately cures for retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration and related retinal diseases.
The partnership supports the strategic directions of both agencies in ensuring resources are directed to timely research in an area of health that affects many Albertans and Canadians. Students and fellows with interests in research related to retinal biology and experimental ophthalmology are encouraged to apply in the following basic or translational fields of research:
- Retinal biology (especially photoreceptor)
- Cell biology
- Molecular biology
- Genetics
- Therapeutics
Applications for studentships/fellowships will be accepted for the March 2010 competition. Downloadable application forms are now available:
Be sure to indicate your interest in being considered for the AHFMR/FFB Training Program.
