Grants and Awards
New Summer Studentship Awards - February 2009 Competition
In February 2009 AHFMR received 388 applications for Summer Studentship awards. The Foundation is pleased to announce that awards will be offered to 192 of these applicants for an overall competition success rate of 49% and a total funding commitment of almost $1,000,000.
All applications were reviewed independently by three members of the Summer Studentship Advisory Committee. Formal notification of these awards will be communicated in letters that will be sent to the Deans' Offices at the universities during the week of March 30. In cases where there is a disagreement between the published list on the web site and the formal letters, the information in the letters will be considered to be the official decision of the Foundation. Individual letters will also be sent directly to each of the Summer Studentship awardees.
It is the responsibility of the awardee, his/her supervisor, and the sponsoring institute to ensure that all terms and conditions of the Summer Studentship award are respected.
Dr. Jacques Magnan, AHFMR Interim President and CEO, and the Foundation's Board of Trustees wish to congratulate the successful applicants and acknowledge and thank all applicants and their supervisors for their efforts in applying for this award.
