Fast-Track Studentships and Fellowships
-
AHFMR will accept, at any time, applications from Alberta-based institutions for full-time Studentship or Fellowship awards for outstanding candidates currently training outside of Alberta. The fast-track program is intended to assist these institutions in recruiting highly qualified trainees to the province. Up to a maximum of 10 awards per calendar year will be awarded through the fast-track review process in each category. Applications to the program will be reviewed on a first come-first serve basis.
-
Applications must include a letter from the Dean/designate of the faculty indicating that the proposal for a fast-track award has been reviewed and stating why a fast-track application should be considered for the candidate in question.
Please refer to the sections on Full-Time Fellowships or Full-Time Studentships for further details regarding eligibility for training awards.
-
Fast-track awards are tenable for up to 12 months.
-
Please refer to the sections on Full-Time Fellowships or Full-Time Studentships for details regarding stipends.
-
The original application should be submitted at least 3 months before the date at which the candidate intends to begin his/her training in Alberta. The appropriate application form from the Full-time Studentship or Full-time Fellowship sections must be used. These are the only forms that will be accepted by AHFMR.
The results of the competition are usually available approximately 3-4 weeks after the application is submitted.
-
Awardees must apply to the regular Full-Time Fellowship or Full-Time Studentship competitions for renewal of fast-track awards.
